How the McCloskey J45 and R155 Work Together for Concrete Recycling
Recycling concrete is about more than reducing material into smaller pieces. An efficient operation needs the right combination of crushing and screening equipment to move material smoothly from the initial feed to clean, separated finished products.
The McCloskey J45 Jaw Crusher and McCloskey R155 Screener make a powerful combination for processing recycled concrete.
Working together, these machines can take concrete rubble and transform it into reusable aggregate products suitable for a variety of construction and site applications.

McCloskey J45 Jaw Crusher for Primary Crushing
The process starts with the McCloskey J45 Jaw Crusher, which handles the primary crushing stage.
Concrete rubble is fed into the crusher, where larger pieces are reduced into manageable material that can then move to the screening stage.
For contractors, recyclers and aggregate producers, using a mobile jaw crusher gives crews the ability to process concrete directly on the jobsite or at a recycling facility instead of treating demolished concrete strictly as waste.
McCloskey R155 Screener for Material Separation
After the concrete has been crushed, the material moves to the McCloskey R155 Screener.
The screener separates the crushed concrete into different finished products based on material size. This allows one recycling operation to produce several usable aggregate products from the same incoming material.
In this setup, the J45 and R155 produce:
- 57 stone: approximately 0.5" to 1"
- Entrance stone: approximately 3" to 6"
- Paver base: 3/4" minus
The result is a clean material flow from the initial concrete feed through crushing, screening and into separated finished piles.
Turn Recycled Concrete Into Usable Material
A crushing and screening setup like the McCloskey J45 and R155 can help contractors recover value from concrete that might otherwise need to be hauled away.
Depending on project requirements, processed recycled concrete can be used for applications such as base material, construction entrances, site preparation and other aggregate needs.
Producing multiple material sizes also gives operators greater flexibility when deciding how processed material will be reused or distributed.
